• Laura speaks at Massachusetts State house – 1 pm – to help forward legislative bill #1798, about decommissioning finances of Pilgrim Power plant.
Nov. 18, 2015
• Orleans Board of Selectmen announce their decision about taking Eversource to court in 2015 or not, with or without POCCA’s attorney Bruce Taub.
Nov. 20, 2015
• POCCA Event at The Barley Neck Inn, 5 Beach Road, Orleans, MA – 10 pm – 12:45 am.  Laura will be making announcements every half hour about the mission to protect our drinking water.  This is a fund raiser, funds go to taking Eversource to court.  A live band, The Daggers, will be playing all night and talking points will be during set breaks. Money jars will be at both entrances, please donate toward our important mission.

• Laura Kelley, Director of POCCA, met Governor Deval Patrick in Yarmouth. He has heard much about NSTAR and herbicidal spraying here on Cape Cod, thanks to POCCA, and said he will look more into the NSTAR issue.

Laura Kelley has requested this to be on the agenda and will be speaking about stopping NSTAR.  MDAR, NSTAR and GreenCape all will be speaking as well. This is a meeting to hear all sides to this story. POCCA will focus on how to protect our land and ourselves and what can town officials do in this matter.

POCCA is a stake-holder in Provincetown/Truro meetings and Wellfleet/Eastham meetings and Barnstable meetings. POCCA is highly active in helping to devise a plan for all of Cape Cod’s waste water.

The interview conducted by Candace Perry of Wellfleet with Laura Kelley of Eastham and Doug Long of Orleans, will broadcast on channel 99 in the LCTV service area of Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet and Truro at three different times: October 4 @ 5:30PM, Tuesday October 8 @ 2:00PM and Wednesday October 9 @ 9:30AM.

POCCA has contacted all 15 town hall Selectmen’s offices asking them to write a document stating why they don’t want NSTAR to spray now or ever on Cape Cod. POCCA wrote each BOS (Board of Selectmen) in order to get this request on their agenda in 2 weeks. Now POCCA is following up by speaking at each town’s Selectmen’s meetings:

• POCCA will attend the Barnstable Town Council meeting at 5 pm, to receive their signed document against NSTAR spraying.

• Provincetown Town Hall, 6 pm. POCCA will receive Provincetown’s document and speak to NSTAR.

• Wellfleet COA, 7 pm, Tuesday Sept. 24. POCCA spoke and requested document and was granted the request unanimously and will receive the document from Wellfleet’s BOS on October 8, 2013.

• POCCA/Laura Kelley spoke to the Barnstable Town Council at the Town Hall in Hyannis at 7 pm in the Hearing Room. Barnstable will be providing their document on October 3. 2013.

• POCCA was present at Provincetown Town Hall at 6 pm and spoke to selectmen asking them to write a document in their owns words to send to MDAR on why they don’t want NSTAR to spray.

Sept. 20, 2013
A gathering to protest NSTAR’s spraying plan will take place in Hyannis on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 pm at Cape Cod Beer (off of Phinney’s Lane). Join in, and bring signs. Kids of all ages can enjoy the cadre of goats that will be in attendance.

Sept. 7th & 8th, 2013
Laura Kelley/POCCA will be educating the public at Windmill Weekend and parade.
